March 1st marks the first day of Endometriosis Awareness Month! (Yes, I know most of you know that but some of our readers may not. Want to cover those bases, ya know?) So our team decided to welcome the month by participating in the #FacesOfEndo campaign.

Fellow #EndoSib Lauren Iac created the #FacesOfEndo campaign in hopes of raising awareness for Endometriosis in one of the simplest ways possible – by asking people to post selfies.

“I’m looking for #EndoSisters to take part in my #FacesOfEndo challenge to help raise awareness for Endo,” Iac wrote on Instagram. “Take a photo of yourself holding a sign that says something you want others to know about Endo or what Endo means to you,” the post read.

“Send it to me to add to my collection for my little awareness project and post your pic on your social media with the hashtag ‘#FacesOfEndo.’ If you want to be involved but aren’t comfortable posting to your own socials, that’s absolutely fine.”

As soon as Iac published her post, the team was ecstatic. Check out the list below to see what our staff members and contributing writers had to say about Endometriosis.

“I want people to know that just because we have a disease doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun, feel sexy, or live our lives. Flare-ups derail us; they happen randomly and far too often, but we still want what everyone wants–to feel alive, wanted, and loved.” – Emily Thorpe, Editorial Assistant & Staff Writer

“Pregnancy does not cure Endometriosis, despite many doctors suggesting it as a treatment.” – Caitlin Conyers, Contributing Writer

“Endometriosis nearly made me take my own life.” – Lola Hall, Staff Writer

“After 20+ years without a formal diagnosis, Endo has forced me to advocate for myself in order to get the treatment required to improve my overall quality of life. Don’t let it get to Stage IV (severe), like I did.”  – Jaime Shuster, Staff Writer

“Statistics say 10 percent of women have Endometriosis. To that, I say there’s a zero percent chance I stop fighting.” – Angelica Young, Outreach Coordinator & Staff Writer

Tabitha Britt, CEO, FOUNDER, DO YOU ENDO

“Endometriosis doesn’t define who you are. This condition may have helped you become the badass babe you are today, but you’re not your Endo.” – Tabitha Britt, Founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief
